About Christy Phillips-Brown
Initiated into our Theta Iota Chapter at Western Carolina University, Christy graduated with a B.S. in Communications. Her curiosity led her to continuing her education by earning her Master of Business Administration degree from Queens University. Professionally, Christy currently serves as the Vice President of Communications for Ahold Delhaize, USA. She has been professionally recognized for her outstanding work with honors and awards including: the Charlotte Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award, the PRSA Silver Anvil Award, the PR New 15 to Watch Award and being named to the PR News CSR Hall of Fame and Civic 50 list. She also received a lifetime achievement award from PRSA Charlotte. In 2021, she was named to Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery Senior Executives list, and in 2019, Christy was named to The Griffin Report of the Northeast’s 2019 Women of Influence in the Food Industry list, which honors women who impact their industries through leadership, dedication and expertise.
As a Delta Zeta leader and volunteer, Christy has served in numerous roles since 1997. Her roles outside of the National Council have included College Chapter Director, Regional Collegiate Coordinator, National District Director, Financial Advisor, National Chapter Advisor, PR Task Force Member and National Panhellenic Conference PR Think Tank Member. She has also served as a chairman/member of multiple National Standing/Special Committees such as the College Chapter Finance Committee, Field Activities Committee and New Member Education Committee. Christy joined National Council in 2014 as Vice President of Collegians and served as National President from 2018-2023. Christy currently serves on National Council as the Past National President and leads the Leadership Development Task Force.
